Dealesville

Location
Dealesville/Tshwaraganang is a small town within the region. The town is located approximately 55km to the south east of Boshof and 69km to the west of Bloemfontein along the R64 (old Bloemfontein/Kimberley Road). The town consists of two suburbs, namely Dealesville and Tshwaraganang, separated by vacant land, the surrounding area comprise irrigation and stock farms.

History
The town of Dealesville was set out on the farm Klipfontein which was originally owned by John Henry Deale. The town achieved municipal status in 1914.

Economy
Dealesville is a mixed-farming town. The plains around the town are so level that water drains into shallow depressions, carrying in mineral salts from the surrounding surface.  Constant evaporation of water and its replenishment have concentrated salt in these depressions and many of them are dazzling to the eye, owing to the sun’s reflection from the white floors.  Large quantities of salt are heaped nearby, ready for packing. There are also many natural mineral springs in the area, some of which have been developed and offer relief to sufferers of certain ailments.
